Awakened at 4:00 am... darn that body clock hee hee
Completed blog post from Aaron's wedding day. Kelly edited it.
Kelly used his Korean language ability and washed some of our clothes in our apartment
complex! (Or was it just pushing the right buttons!) hahahaha

Mel, Alan, and I to a local coffee shop for bagel and coffee.. then we packed up for a two
day trip and headed to Aaron's where we boarded a 20 seat van  (provided by Jeong Mi's parents) to drive us to the East Coast of Korea!
The driver drove us to Jeong Mi's parents apartment where they loaded themselves and boxes of food and other items!  Then we were off!  Drove two hours where we stopped at a rest stop for lunch, bathroom break, and chance to check out the souvenir vender!

Back into the van and we drove to Hour Glass Park/Beach.. no rain!!!  and the wind and surf and sand!
Wonderful!  We also got our toes wet in the East Sea (Sea of Japan to all non-Koreans).

Then toward a Cruise Ship Resort (not a real ship)... opportunity for more picture taking..

We toured a Cruise Ship Resort where we could get a bird's eye view of the coastland.

Then to Gangneung Unification Park for a Ship tour, sub tour.. includes a boat from defectors.

Jeong Mi's mom had made rice drink (rice tea) which we all shared, then back on the van to continue or drive to our lodging for the night.  We enjoyed melon and rice cake (made by Jeong Mi's mom) as we traveled.  Stopped at a fish market in order to buy fresh fish for our dinner.  Interesting place of sights, sounds, and smells.

Mr. Park chose the one he wanted, it was removed from the tank of water, killed, filleted, cut, wrapped.. then off to the Pebble Beach Pension. We arrived after 9:00 pm.. we were all pretty tired and looking forward to getting out of the van.. The Parks gave us the key to our lovely room and we went to put our things away.

                                                                           Beautiful rooms!
We cleaned up and then went back downstairs to the terrace area where the Parks grilled a buffet of different meats served with a wonderful assortment of food including salad and sushi.. We all dug in and ate till we could not eat anymore.  Very full but memorable day.. very generous gift from Mr. and Mrs. Park to create this day for us!

(The beach side of the building had a  fence to help guard against North Koreans coming onto the South Korean shore. At one point two soldiers walked by on patrol.)
Then to bed for another full day awaiting us on the East Coast of Korea!
